So, here it is. I finally set up a blog… An online rant about the daily mind works of me! Here you delve deep into the random thoughts, the weirdest worries and the far from subtle, pretty damn graphic lifestyle of Scouse. Most of the blogs I’ve seen or read have some kind of point; the author has a purpose in his/her life, something worth reading about. I decided to break that rule!
Please register on the blog and come post replies to my quite opinionated rants. Try to keep swearing to an acceptable level and please, fascist attacks and racist remarks will me pointed fun at. This isn’t a teenage chat board for you to hide behind a monitor and shout ‘fuck you’ at anyone who tells you that you are being an obnoxious little prick. So who am I? Why would I bother to write a blog that has no content; nothing to engross the read, making them come back for more, constantly refreshing the page waiting for the new entry?
As a kid I was always told that ‘you could write a book about me and everyday would be a new page’ and since I have no money to publish a book, welcome to me blog!
This is why I started this blog up today, I get an Email off the wife which links me to a news story in the Dallas Observer. The story is about a friend on Polunsky’s death row in Texas. He is a friend that my wife has been writing to for little over 2 years now and I have started reading more about him and also some of his blogs. For certain reasons the blogs have been put on ice and I know this is for the best, but for Randy the blogs were his release, his day to day vent. One of his very limited ways to reach into the outside world and touch people. Also for the people who read his blogs, this was their look inside the head of a man incarcerated within the walls of the killing machine.
I know that capital punishment brings out the true person, not in just the opinion they have on it, or the side of the fence they sit, but the matter in which they voice their opinion. Being active against it has brought me face to face with some of the most ignorant, in your face kinda people I’ve ever met. Working as a bar tender in many city centre bars and working as a betting shop manager has never introduced me to such blood craving individuals. Sure, everyone has their opinion and the right to voice it. There will always be two sides to an argument, but do you ever see veggies standing with banners saying save a fucking turkey or something, then on the other side of the road some big old carnivore… (haha.. I wrote carnival by mistake and thought of my daughter!) … standing on the other side of the road with a banner saying I love Bernard Mathews? Probably not. It doesn’t mean I don’t love the guy or eating meat for that matter, it just means I’m not a prick about wanting to kill animals. Before all the pro jump on my about that one, yes! I know it has NOTHING to do with punishment, I was just trying to compare you with a prick!
p I’d also like to point out that anti death does not mean anti punishment. What really makes me laugh is the great minds that join discussion boards with stupid names like ‘bring back the birch’ and ‘let em fry’ then they go on to post crap about ‘ok, we’ll let them come and live with you and your family’ ”sure”, I say.. “let me first just go buy a fucking prison, ya fucking spakka.”
So, Life without parole is a fair justice for the truly heinous that shouldn’t be allowed back into society. My friend is not one of those people.
He is a fucking veggie though! ;o)
